Description

The MOTU M2 2×2 USB-C Audio Interface is a professional-grade 2-in/2-out USB-C audio/MIDI interface engineered for low-latency recording and monitoring with Mac, Windows, and iOS systems. It features high-performance 24-bit/192 kHz A/D and D/A conversion with ESS Sabre32 Ultra™ DAC technology, delivering up to 120 dB dynamic range on the main outputs. The interface supports simultaneous 2 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs, with balanced DC-coupled 1/4″ TRS main outputs and mirrored unbalanced RCA outputs for flexible connectivity.

Input channels comprise two XLR-1/4″ combo jacks capable of microphone, line, or Hi-Z instrument signals, each with individual gain control, +48 V phantom power, and hardware monitoring. The unit also includes a dedicated 1/4″ stereo headphone output with independent level control driven by ESS converters.

Front-panel metering is provided via a full-color LCD, offering real-time level indication for all inputs and outputs. Loopback functionality enables routing of host playback back into the interface for internal recording, useful for streaming and podcast capture. Optimized USB drivers facilitate ultra-low round-trip latency (as low as ~2.5 ms at 96 kHz).

Additional features include MIDI In and Out (5-pin DIN), USB class-compliant operation (Class 2), bus-powered USB-C connectivity with USB-A compatibility, and robust metal construction. Sampling rates supported range from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz. The interface is supplied with MOTU Performer Lite, Ableton Live Lite, and a library of loops and samples for recording and production workflows.
